Tyler James Robinson is a 22-year-old from Washington, Utah, identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. He was reportedly a third-year student in an electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College in St. George and had briefly attended Utah State University in 2021. Robinson is accused of firing from a rooftop about 200 yards away, striking Kirk in the neck while he was speaking on stage.

Authorities have charged him with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice. Although he had no prior criminal record, people close to him noted that he had become increasingly political in recent years and expressed hostility toward Kirk’s views. Family members recognized him in images released by investigators, and evidence links him directly to the shooting.
